Jessica Replansky is the costume designer on the dance-driven Disney Channel comedy series "Shake It Up." Through wardrobe, she expresses the vibrant personalities of the individual characters and creates a colorful palette to showcase the youthful dance atmosphere in the series.

Biography[]

Replansky began her career as a costume coordinator on the set of one of the most fashion-forward television series of all time, "Sex and the City." Under the guidance of visionary costume designer Patricia Field, Replansky learned how to mix fabrics and patterns to create a truly unique yet cohesive look for each character. When the award-winning series moved to the big screen with "Sex and the City: The Movie" and then again with "Sex and the City 2," Replansky joined as the assistant costume designer and helped propel the fashion to new heights.

Her other feature film credits include the similarly fashion-focused movies "The Devil Wears Prada," starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway and "Confessions of a Shopaholic," starring Isla Fisher.

In 2006, Replansky signed on to assist veteran costume designer Eduardo Castro on the ABC series "Ugly Betty," where she helped dress the uber-stylish women and men of the fictional fashion magazine Mode. She also styled both leading ladies of the hit series, America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams, for their respective Entertainment Weekly cover shoots. Moving from the world of high fashion to the world of suburban doldrums, Replansky showed her range as the costume designer on the NBC comedy series "Kath & Kim."

She has worked on numerous commercials for such high-profile companies as Vidal Sassoon and Payless and as a consulting stylist; she helped create the look of CW's promotional campaign for the new series "Hellcats" and "Nikita."

Replansky was born in Rhinebeck, New York. She attended Boston University where she met her husband Matt Fusfeld, a writer on the animated comedy series "American Dad." Currently, she and her husband reside in Los Angeles.
