Career[]

Tim James is one of the many pop songwriters who started off their career in the mid-1980s and early 1990s and got through the rough patches of the increasingly pop-hostile mid-1990s to re-bound in the last decade or so. James focused on dance-pop and wrote hits for Tiffany and the moderately successful group PC Quest. A predictable slump, as discussed above, came when he had to come face to face with a public fatigued by dance-pop.

James co-wrote the songs "Potential Breakup Song" by Aly & AJ, "Come Back to Me" by Vanessa Hudgens, "See You Again" by Miley Cyrus, "Naturally" by Selena Gomez & the Scene, and Hold Up by Demi Lovato. James collaborates with production partner Antonina Armato and mixing partner Paul Palmer. He has also worked with The Cheetah Girls. In 2007, Tim James along with his partners sold over 10 million albums.

Between the three founding members of The Rock Mafia organization, they have collectively sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

James actually scored several major country hits, and re-teamed with Armato in 2006 and started a still-going concern writing mildly punk-pop-tinged hits for and with teenybopper superstars like Aly and AJ and Miley Cyrus, not to mention an assortment of High School Musical graduates. James still writes a country hit from time to time as well.

He is married to Antonina Armato.
